ATP Men's Tennis Rankings as of May 28, 2012

>> Saturday, May 26, 2012

The ATP men's tennis rankings were released earlier than normal after the conclusion of this week's Open de Nice Côte d’Azur 2012 in Nice, France. Third-seeded Nicolas Almagro of Spain defeated qualifier American Brian Baker to win his 12th ATP title, all on clay court events. The win helped Almagro exchange places with Gael Monfils of France as Almagro one spot higher in the only movement within the top 20. As for Baker, he jumped 75 spots to a career-high ranking of no. 141. Baker is the USTA's representative as the American wildcard in this year's French Open.

In the 2012 ATP Rankings Race To London, the top three players in Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer maintained the top three positions and all three are close to each other in the rankings. This could very well change after the French Open which Nadal is the heavy favorite to win. Almagro's title in Nice allowed him to move to the no. 8 spot bumping Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga down to no. 9. See the list below for the ATP top 20 men's tennis rankings and race to London.
