Tennis Olympics 2012 - Men's Singles Entry List

>> Wednesday, July 11, 2012

2008 Olympic gold medalist and French Open champion Rafael Nadal, world no. 1 and Wimbledon champion Roger Federer, and 5-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic will lead an Olympic men's tennis singles field that consists of top ATP players from 33 different countries. Argentina, France, Russia, and the United States are the only four countries who will be sending the maximum number of four singles players into the men's draw. Brazil, India, Romania, Slovenia, Tunisia and Ukraine are countries that will be represented in the draw only because the ITF has extended wildcard entries to their top players. The other 56 players qualified based on their world ranking as of June 11, 2012. Fernando González of Chile, the 2008 silver medalist from 2008 will not be participating as he retired from tennis earlier this year. The 2008 bronze medalist is Djokovic, the current Australian Open and US Open champion.
