2012 London Olympics: Men's Tennis Doubles Entry List

The gold and bronze men's tennis doubles teams at the 2008 Beijing Olympics will be returning to the 2012 London Olympics to lead 30 other doubles teams in pursuit of Olympic glory for the 25 countries represented in the draw. Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland won the gold medal four years ago defeating the pair of Simon Aspelin and Thomas Johansson of Sweden in the gold medal match. The Swedes will not be playing this year but the bronze medal of Bob and Mike Bryan of the United States will be returning with the Swiss team in this year's draw.

The top four men's singles players will be teaming up with countrymen to participate in the doubles event as well. Joining world no. 1 Roger Federer in the doubles event are world no. 2 Novak Djokovic, no. 3 Rafael Nadal and no. 4 Andy Murray. Djokovic is pairing up with fellow Serb Victor Troicki as one of two doubles teams from Serbia. Nadal is partnering with Marcel Granollers to represent Spain, and Andy Murray will be joined by his brother, Jamie, as one of two doubles teams representing Great Britain.

The top two ranked doubles players in the world will also be pairing up with compatriots for this once-in-four-years event. Top ranked doubles player Max Mirnyi is teaming up with Alexander Bury to represent Belarus while Mirnyi's current partner and world no. 2 Daniel Nestor of Canada is teaming up with Vasek Pospisil. India's Leander Paes, the no. 5 doubles player in the world and a former singles bronze medalist in the 1996 Olympics, is pairing up with Vishnu Vardhan.

Several countries are represented in the men's doubles by virtue of an ITF wildcard. Those awarded with wildcard entries to enable participation are Argentina, Colombia, Israel, Japan, Romania, Russia, and the Slovak Republic. Countries being represented by two teams are Brazil, France, Great Britain, India, Serbia, Spain and the United States.
