2012 Madrid Open Live Online: Serena, Almagro, Kvitova in Action

This week's tennis focus is at the 2012 Mutua Madrid Open with the ladies defending champion, a 13-time Grand Slam champion, and a local men's tennis favorite all in action on Monday in Madrid, Spain. Watch the 2012 Madrid Open live online here as the defending Madrid and Wimbledon champion and world no. 3 Petra Kvitova starts her campaign in the tennis tournament which launched her into the WTA top 10 last year. Other notable players featured on Monday, May 7 are former no. 1 players Serena and Venus Williams, and men's 11th-seed and Spain's no. 3 player Nicolas Almagro.

Action on the centre court starts with Serena Williams, who takes on Russia’s Elena Vesnina, and finishes with the America player’s sister, Venus, going head-to-head with Angelique Kerber, a two-time WTA winner this year at Paris and more recently, Copenhagen. A few of Spain’s female players won’t have it easy on Monday. Carla Suárez, the runner-up in the Estoril last Saturday, will face former world no. 1 Jelena Jankovic in her first round match in Stadium 3. Silvia Soler takes on last year's French Open champion Na Li in her second round match later on in the day on the same court.

Lourdes Domínguez, who qualified from the preliminary stages, will be looking to advance to the third round when she plays Cetkovska. One of the other main attractions of the day will be seeing Sara Errani play her first match. The Italian has won 15 matches in a row and has three clay titles to her name.

This Monday we will also have the privilege of seeing some of the favourites in the men’s competition in action. Spain’s Nicolás Almagro, seeded eleventh, will face a qualifier from the previous stage on centre court, as will Juan Carlos Ferrero in what will be the first match of the night session. Monday will also see Guillermo García-López debut against Marcos Baghdatis, Viktor Troicki against Donald Young, and young Madrileño Javier Martí against Russia’s Mikhail Youzhny.
