The prestigious 2012 Internazionali BNL d'Italia, Rome's premier tennis tournament, will be held this year from May 13 - May 20, 2012. The venue is at the Benito Mussolini-built Foro Italico in northern Rome, the same venue since 1935. The tennis tournament is for both ATP and WTA tours, and expect the best of the men's and women's tennis players to be in attendance. The venue is a complex comprised of 11 courts, with the jewel in the crown being the newly-built 10,400-seater Centre Court. The 2012 Internazionali BNL d'Italia is part of the spring clay court season leading up to the French Open, the second grand slam of the year and the only one held in clay.
