It's late May and the second tennis Grand Slam of the year is starting this weekend. Live tennis action is covered by the best broadcasters around the world, as the best players compete in Roland Garros 2012 - the French Open, the only major hosted in clay courts. Last year, more than 140 channels in almost 180 countries broadcasted live and delayed telecast as Spain's Rafael Nadal tied a record win of six French Open wins. On the women's side, Li Na of China captured everyone's imagination with a straight set win over then defending champion Francesca Schiavone of Italy, to become the first Asian tennis player - man or woman - to capture a Grand Slam title.
For the 2012 version of the French Open, France Televisions as in the past a partner of Roland-Garros, will broadcast live and extensive coverage on France 2, France 3, and France 4. Telecast will start at 11 AM Paris time until the end of the day. Additional regular magazine programmes throughout the fortnight will be added. Gustavo Kuerten won three French Open titles, and put Brazilian tennis in the map. This year, South Americans will rely on Argentinians to carry the banner of their continent.
