BMW Open 2012 Live Online Tennis from Munich, Germany

The BMW OPEN by ATLANTICLUX 2012 will take place from April 28th to May 6th, 2012 in Munich, Germany. It is the first of five tennis tournaments to be held in Germany for the 2012 ATP calendar. This year is the 97th staging of the International Tennis Championships of Bavaria that started in 1900. The BMW Open was first staged at Munich’s Iphitos Tennis Club in 1974 and four Germans have won the title since then, most recently Philipp Kohlschreiber in 2007. World No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga leads a strong field in his first ever participation at the BMW Open in Munich. Tsonga won his first title on his first tournament this year in Doha, Qatar. He beat compatriot Gael Monfils 75 63 in the final for his 8th ATP career title. He lost to No. 26-ranked Kei Nishikori in the Australian Open round of 16. The Frenchman is coming off a quarter-final showing in Monte-Carlo and is bidding to win his first ATP World Tour clay-court title.

Philipp Kohlschreiber will look to reclaim the BMW Open title he won in 2007 where he beat Russian Mikhail Youzhny. He has reached the quarter-finals on his past two visits to Munich and will be fifth-seed for this year's tournament. World No. 16 Feliciano Lopez is set to make his debut in Munich. The Spanish left-hander is bidding to win his first ATP World Tour title in more than two years; he has twice been a runner-up on clay. Lopez is seeded second behind Tsonga.

Former World No. 3 Nikolay Davydenko captured his 21st ATP World Tour title in Munich last year with victory over Florian Mayer. The Russian has been trophy-less since then, but he is back in the draw to defend his title as the seventh-seed. Marin Cilic of Croatia, Bernard Tomic of Australia, and former top 10 player Marcos Baghdatis round out the top eight seeds for BMW Open 2012 tennis tournament.
