The 2012 French Open at Roland Garros is under way with top-notch tennis from the best players in the ATP and WTA tours. French Open favorites for the men's singles titles have made their way into the round of 16 competition. World no. 2 Rafael Nadal is the top favorite to win a record 7th French Open title. He will be challenged by world no. 1 Novak Djokovic and 2009 champion Roger Federer. In the women's draw, top favorite Serena Williams suffered a shocking first round defeat at the hands of Frenchwoman Virginie Razzano. The other title contenders - world no. 1 Victoria Azarenka and world no. 2 Maria Sharapova are still in the hunt for their first ever French Open titles.
