How much prize money is awarded for winners and participants in this year's Davis Cup 2012? (Related Posts: ATP TOUR Career Prize Money Leaders | Roger Federer Prize Money | Rafael Nadal Prize Money). According to the ATP Tour listing of prize money won per tournament by any single player, the prize money awarded for winning or participating in Davis Cup matches is not being counted as official - it is given as a BLANK, not a ZERO. There is a difference. "$" is different from "$0" for example. This means that what players receive for playing the Davis Cup is not officially tallied as prize money. This would be the same as the per diem that players would receive for qualifying and participating in Grand Slam tournaments. Or, it would be the same as the appearance fee, sometimes exuberant, that tournaments pay out to attract top players in participating in tournaments. These are all money earned by the tennis players, but not necessarily what would count into their official prize money earnings. According to the Canadian encyclopedia, "Until 1981, prize money was not awarded for Davis Cup competition. Today, sponsorship provides US$8.5 million in prize money." Most likely, tennis players cherish the honor of representing their country as a primary motivation for participating in Davis Cup, not necessarily what the prize money is.

The question is how much each team gets per round? In the World Group, American Zone, or Group I, II, III, and IV?
