Roger Federer skips Kooyong Exhibition

World #1 Roger Federer has decided to skip the AAMI Classic Tournament this year, the annual exhibition tournament at Kooyong that he normally uses to prepare for the Australian Open. Federer's manager has informed tournament promoters that the 15-time grand slam winner wanted to concentrate on practice sessions at Melbourne Park. Federer may however, ask for an extra match at Kooyong later in the week to have an additional practice match after he was knocked out of the Doha semifinals by eventual champion, Nikolay Davydenko. Without Federer, the field still has 7 of the top 20 players including 2008 Australian Open champion and world #3 Novak Djokovic, and 2009 US Open champion and world #5 Juan Martin del Potro.
